Monthly Utility Billing

Water meters are read on and after the 23rd of the month with bills sent out the following month by the 10th. Utility bills are due on the 23rd with a 10% penalty charge assessed on late payments. Payment can be made either by dropping into drop-off box located east of Village Office, or by mail.

Next 10,000 gallons $1.25 per 1,000 gallons
Over 12,000 gallons $1.00 per 1,000 gallons

Extra Meter
(used for outside watering; read once a year)
$2.50 per 1,000 gallons
Bulk water furnished by the Village
$25.00 per 1,000 gallons or fraction thereof.

Service Charges by Water Department

The Village will test and correct any meter that is registering incorrectly without the consent of the customer, or upon his request. Proper refund shall be made if the test shows the customer has been overcharged. In order to protect the Village against unreasonable demands for this service, a charge of $50.00 shall be made if the test shows the meter to be registering within two percent (2%). If the meter is found to be under-registering, the customer may be billed for undercharges for up to one year prior to the determination of under-registering.

Unoccupied Rate

(used by residents who leave for an extended period during the year)

• Water Rate - $2.00 per month
• Sewer Rate - $4.00 per month

All residents are required to pay a monthly $6.00 surcharge for water tower construction.

Residential Non-Owner

1. A deposit of $100.00 is required by an applicant for residential utility service when the applicant is not the owner of the residence, unless owner of the premises has agreed in writing to waive deposit.
2. Deposit will be refunded when resident has moved unless their account is not paid in full. In that case, deposit will be used to pay the outstanding balance, with the remainder, if any, returned to the resident.

New Construction

1. Water connection charge for 1" meter is $675.00.
2. Sewer connection charge is $500.00.
3. Both are payable when applying for zoning permit.
4. An extra meter charge is $150.00

Utility Bill Discrepancies

Occasionally there are errors made in readings, computer glitches, or some other problem. If a problem occurs or if there are any questions regarding a bill, they should be addressed within 30 days after the occurrence.

Delinquent Accounts

1. Any resident with a past-due balance not paid by the 10th of the next month will have their services discontinued with no prior notice given.
2. A reconnection charge of $60.00 plus delinquent balance must be paid before service is continued.

Board of Public Affairs

Any resident can participate or address problems by attending a Board of Public Affairs meeting on the second Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at the Village Hall, 13 Elm Street.
